Just what are apostles and prophets and what do they do? Does the Church even need apostles and prophets today, after all, we have the scriptures? Are there any alive today? If there are, what gifts has He given them? Are they a gift given to the Church that we need today? Why do some believers make claims to be apostles or prophets?

Did you ever ask yourself or other people these questions and other questions like them? If you have, that’s pretty normal. A.W. Tozer once prayed, “Lord, how great is our dilemma! In Thy Presence silence best becomes us, but love inflames our hearts and constrains us to speak. Were we to hold our peace the stones would cry out; yet if we speak, what shall we say? Teach us to know that we cannot know, for the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Let faith support us where reason fails, and we shall think because we believe, not in order that we may believe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

The following links contain some articles and answers that we have discovered in His Word, in His Presence, and experientially. We think because we believe. We search the scriptures because we believe. We appraise all things because we believe and we encourage you to also.

As Paul wrote:

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:18-23 BACK_TO_TOP
